Another Year has finished ohh.... so fast and it's nearly half way through the first month of 2010. In 2009 I had been MIA for several months from the blog world, but my personal challenge for 2010 is to post at least once a week with my kreations, presents, experiences and stories.
2009 was a fantastic year for me. Many memories and special times with family and friends but the most wonderful moment was when I walked across a lovely green patch of grass towards a man I know call Husband. Yes, I'm Married and it's been everything I every wished plus even more.
So with all that is involved in planning a wedding and enjoying the honeymoon I really did not complete much for the end of 2009. I have no more excuses now... the party is over and back to the sewing room lol.
My new Mother-In-Law Gail and Sister-In-Law Sarah have both signed up for the 2010 OPAM Challenge. I have just sent my email to Peg... so fingers cross I'm not too late. But if i am... I'm still going to use this to motivate myself to complete something each month. I have so many projects on my wish list this year..lol
Well better get going to bed and get some well needed sleep.
I will pop back tomorrow and show you all what I have been up to :)

Grace's Blooming 3rd Birthday Quilt
Last Sunday Simon and I went to Grace's 3rd Birthday Party. Balloons, toys, kids and cake filled the day. I had so much fun watching the kids running a muck. I got really clucky.. but that's another story. LOL.
Grace is my Best Friend/Maid of Honors eldest girl. I have always wanted to make Grace a quilt ever since she was born but never got around to it. I started making this quilt on my Wednesday sewing day with Gail. It was not a planned project, but the best ones never are. LOL.
I used a Woodland Bloom Jelly Roll and Charm Square to make this quilt. Gail and I both made this stripy quilt. Gail used her Posh Jelly Roll and it looked fantastic. She has not finished it yet but I will have to get on her back about it before it heads up in the UFO box..LOL..
I love doing applique on quilts, spicing it up with my own individual touch.. And it's always great to personalise a special quilt too.
I really enjoyed making this quilt and have plans to start making another for Kristy's youngest girl Chelsea-Rose.
Well, I better start thinking on the material choice for the next one.
Everyone. Take care

A bit of "Fresh Air"
On our Wednesday Sewing Day with my soon to be Mother-In law Gail, I started making this charm square table topper. I've had this Fresh Air charm square for a while and never knew what to make from it. With Gail's advise and the use of her "Thimble Blossoms - Simple Charm" pattern this table table was born. lol.

I took this opportunity to finally use my quilting frame. I have been quite nervous about using it, and did not want to put a quilt top on it, only it stuff it up. So I used my table topper as a practice run. There was a couple of bumps in the road at the start but once I had all the right settings it was going smoothly.
Next quilting project to tackle now is my "Basic Grey - Urban Couture" quilt top. Fingers cross it goes well. I will be back to post some pics later in the week.

Sweet Abbey Bag

Quilting Frame
Hello bloggers, Yes... I'm alive and still quilting. "How fast time does fly". It's been a while since my last blog. My time has been spent planning Simon's and my wedding. Thank god, most of the planning is completed. Invitations sent, cake order, dress fitted, flowers made; lol.. I'm so excited for this day to arrive. Our wedding is simply but has a romantic vintage charm to it. Fingers cross that everything runs smoothly.
My other news is that I recently brought my first quilting frame. I have not yet put the frame to work but it won't be long now. I have a couple of quilt tops that have been waiting so some time. I purchased this frame from my soon to be sister Sarah. What's a sister with-out "Hand me Downs" LOL. She brought a brand new one with all the bells and whistles. I was over the moon to be able to buy this one. I have seen the masterpieces that have came from this frame. Hopefully it can work some miracles for me.

Christmas Presents from Family.
Christmas 2008 was the best Christmas i have ever had. My wonderful boyfriend Simon proposed to me with a beautiful ring, and of course I said YES..
Simon's family really spoiled me this Christmas with amazing gifts. Sarah and Denis gave me the Little Romance Kit (totally breathtaking) . Sarah also made Simon a fantastic new quilt. Made from Red White and Blue Material. The pattern used was so affective and had a great quilting finish. A surprise parcel arrived today with a belayed present for me from Sarah. A environmental shopping bag with real style. The bag is so my taste (great choice Sarah).
Gail and Ian Simon's parents also gave me so fantastic presents. A gorgeous sliver and pink Pandora bracelet and heaps of little things plus a City Girl layer cake to go with my collection. lol

Thank you so much to everyone for making this Christmas "The best Christmas ever"

Teddy Tidy Christmas Present
Christmas was coming so fast this year and I was running out of time to get presents for the family. I decided a the very last minute to make my Grandmother "Phyllis" a Tidy Teddy Bin.

Better start making mine :)
Later I will post some pic's of my surprise christmas presents.

Once again I stole the idea of the "Craft master Sarah". I could not find the pattern for these on-line so I went and borrowed Gails tidy teddy bin and made a pattern from it. I loved making this and on Christmas Day, Phyllis absolutely loved it.
I am currently making one for myself. They are a great idea and a wonderful present to give someone.
Better start making mine :)
Later I will post some pic's of my surprise christmas presents.

Quilters Journal
This is my hand made Quilters Journal a beautiful Leanne Beasley design.
I was inspired to make one of these after setting my eye's on Sarah's. I searched around Gladstone and online trying to find these Gypsy Binders. I had no luck. I was so determined to make this journal so I decided to make one from scratch. It wasn't that hard and I am so pleased with the final product.
There is my Quilters Journal
This is a picture on how I created my Journal

My Journal is made :)
Now the challenge is to fill it will all my quilts and little creations.

New Arrival to the Family
On Saturday our little family of four grew to five. Simon and I decided that a 8 month old Bull Mastiff cross Labrador puppy named Chevy needed to have a play mate. We had been searching around the area for a little boy bull mastiff and we finally struck gold. A lovely family in Rockhampton were selling puppies and advertised them in the rural trader. It was fate, because there was only one puppy left and it was a boy. I was a bit worried when the owner's told us that the puppies were Bull Mastiff cross Neo Mastiff. Neo Mastiffs nickname is the Harry Potter Dogs. If you have ever seen the movies you will know what I'm taking about. There grow enormous, have rollie skin and are scary ugly. But luckily our little boy did not inherit that part. He's name is Dodge. He has settled in fine. Chevy loves him, but our cat Pepper is not impressed. She finally got Chevy to know who is boss, know there is another little brat to teach hehe.
Our pets (children) are so funny. This photo of Pepper was taken a couple of days ago. Simon opened the cupboard to get Chevy her dinner and ""What did he find ?"
PEPPER flavoured CHUM
Our cat is very strange. She loves being in cupboards, empty boxes, really anything !
Here are the less stranger pair of the family.
""Aren't they just so adorable""
* Promise to be back with pictures of my hand made "Journal" in a couple of days
